July Challenge - So far so good. I am keeping a list of what I have accomplished (or attempted to accomplish) and I am pretty proud of my doings.
1st - Auto Insurance
2nd - DMV license and registration issues
3rd - Emptying 4 laundry baskets of clean clothes which have been sitting around for more than a month; beginning discussions about party planning for Grandma's party with professionals
4th - Finalize catering and party issues; Gather information for certification test which I must take in September
5th - Create file folders for important documents (birth cert., SS card, passport, etc.) and put all information away properly. (I was walking around with my original birth certificate and passport in my purse since going to DMV.)
Today I plan to find out what evening I can renew my passport in person at the passport center in town and get my butt on a study schedule for the test I have to take in September.
Fun Times - I had a really great few days. I napped. Hung out with my friends. Finalized my Atlantic City getaway plan with my sister. And ate Sonic. Twice. (Don't judge me!) Most of my friends were away so there was no bbqing or anything, but we went out to dinner and listened to the fireworks.
Swine Flu - So you thought the scare was over, huh? Well in my world the threat is just becoming real. My sister is a nanny for a family during the summer. Both kids have had boughts of swine since school has let out. They were scheduled to go on vacation this week, but the mother came down with the swine. Since my sister was with the kids all day while they were sick, I wonder how long it will be until she gets it. And then I get it. I am on the watch for symptoms as we speak. The only problem with my digital thermometer has decided only to read in Celsius. Now I have to do math.
So tell me what's on your mind!

Way to go on all the progress. I feel like taking a nap after reading it all and OMG Swine flu!!!! I'm gonna get a good thermometer now! Can you catch it through blogs?! OMG!
I hear that if you get the flu this summer, it's H1N1. So far, so good, but I know it is out there. I'll probably get a flu shot in the fall for the first time in YEARS, if I don't catch the bug first.
We hung out and enjoyed 2 nights of fireworks, just the 8 of us (my in-laws are visiting) the first night and with a couple of neighbors for the 2nd night.
I'm very impressed with your July commitment. It might be rubbing off on me!
You are making amazing progress! So, how are you feeling about it all?
You packed a lot into one weekend! I don't fault ya for eating Sonic twice, either. Yummmm.
Ron - You are probably safe. But go get yourself some Tamiflu incase. That is what my sister is taking. The good thing is the parents for whom she nannys are both doctors.
Kcinnova - sounds like a great weekend!!
Dana - I feel good about it. It is not overwhelming because I only committed to one thing per day. And I still have some tough ones ahead, but avoiding hasn't been working out too well for me. The time has come to try to fix things.
Ginger - I had a busy, but really realxing weekend. I took several naps in between Sonic runs. They just opened the first SOnic in my area so I am sort of obessed right now.
Yikes.
I hope you manage to avoid the swine flu. I had thought it was over.
Ps. Don't forget to update your blog roll and/or google reader. I moved to www.imagesbyashleigh.blogspot.com.
;)
Holy crap! I knew it was real but that is some scary stuff. Be glad you are neither old nor really young. Sometimes being in your 30"s pays off! ;)
I heart Sonic. And we don;t have one. I would have eaten it twice to if I could.
Congrats on the progress, that kicks ass!
I love Sonic! I didn't know there were any in Jersey! I was obsessed with them when I was in college. So good!
Atlantic City should be fun! I just hope you don't sit in traffic on the way down! I refuse to go to AC in the summer b/c I'm afraid of the traffic!
Go on with your bad ass self! I am the world's biggest procrastinator and like you, am slowly making my way through my now scheduled list.
WTG on your progress! I'm working on several projects of my own, but they seem to be taking longer than anticipated. Blech!
Hope you stay safe from the flu! That is so scary.
Haha, I grew up with Sonic everywhere, but up here, they are few and far between. Our city got two last year, but they both take about 30 minutes for me to get to, so it's a rare treat. The slushes are the best part!
Yikes! Swine flu? My boss' daughters' camp was stricken with this thing. UGH!
Those are all great achievements! As an over-achiever myself I say: keep it up! An organized life is much more bearable, especially during times of stress.
Damn girl, you ARE busy!
I'm busy planning for my Vegas trip and my parent's 40th anniversary party. Just 100 people coming to my house for a little party! ;)
You're not kidding that you're going to fill July with accomplishments. Go Karen!
crap i already forgot about the swine flu! geeze.
