My weekend was ok. I certainly have had better times, but at least I got a lot of rest.
I went to a really bad birthday party, but tried to make the best of it. In the end it turned out to tolerable. Sort of.
I watched the world mourn the death of Michael Jackson and scratched my head at insanity.
I skipped a second party because I wasn't feeling particularly festive. Instead I watched Burn Notice and Law & Order reruns and shared a few glasses of wine with friend.
I hung my head in shame as the Yankees swept the Mets.
I tried to figure out what I am going to do for the holiday weekend, but I still have no idea.
How was your weekend?

I'm with you on the MJ thing.
I stayed up late on Friday night, working on a newsletter that just wouldn't come together. Spent all day Saturday at a retreat center, working to spruce the place up, then came home to shower, drink a beer and FINALLY finish the newsletter. Sunday to church and meetings. I should have cleaned the house top to bottom but instead I read a book. Actually, half a book... I now need to clean because my in-laws are coming TODAY, but what I really want to do is finish my book.
I'm far more upset about Billy Mays dying than I am Michael Jackson. Cheers Karen!!
I'm considering learning to drink mass quantities of alcohol.
Not good. Not at all.
I'm kind of amazed and perplexed by the wall-to-wall Michael Jackson coverage too. And the fact that it's been 99% positive. Really over the top if you ask me.
I actually got out of the house with some friends (and no kids) and have a nice Saturday - shopping, lunch, etc. The rest of the weekend was laid back.
I have no plans for the long holiday weekend thus far....maybe hang out with some girlfriends perhaps (more blog foder! lol).
I hope to never experience a week like last week. Whew!
I had a crappy weekend. I'm hoping this week rules.
My weekend was atrocious. Wine wouldn't have even helped!
I'll take a bad party over asshole inlaws anyday!
Sorry your weekend was not better.
Guess those mojitos were not that good after all huh?
It's good to see you skipped the social stuff when you weren't feeling festive. Not many people do that and they often weigh down the other guests. Hope the rest of your week and unplanned weekend get better!
Ummmmm - I worked Friday and Saturday and then I had off on Sunday. I didn't do anything exciting.
The MJ thing is insane!
Lonely - I sent my son off to camp for a week.
But next weekend? I'll be with my family for the first time in a year, and as dysfunctional as they sometimes can be, I cannot think of anywhere else I'd rather be!
This pat weekend turned out to be a blast for me. I had a great birthday and celebrated by being surronded by family and friends.
I'm with you though about this coming weekend. I have NO idea what I will be doing. After this past weekend I kinda want it to be low key but at the same time I don't want to miss anything either.
As long as it's nice out I will be happy!
They seem to be treating he MJ demise no different than the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis. I guess you can, kinda, see the simalarities, of how popular they were.
A bad birthday party can't be any worse than no party at all, can it?
Michael Jackson. I was still a baby when he was at his peak. But I remember all his songs. Amazing.
